6 Month Check-up

Yesterday was Carter's big check up! The nurse called us back to the room after everyone in the lobby gave Carter the googly eyes (as my nieces would say) and she weighed and measured him. He weighs 20lbs 10oz (naked!) and is 27" long. The nurse then listened to Carter's heart, and Carter put his 2 new teeth to work munching on her hand while she listened. Then after a bit of a wait, the Dr. came in. He said Carter looks great and he now has permission to eat some table foods if they are the right consistency. (Mashed potatoes, here we come!) Carter showed his approval by trying to rip off the Dr.'s glasses and trying to sample the stethoscope.

What a big boy!

Little (big) Mr. Carter got his first tooth yesterday! (Have you ever tried to photograph a baby's tooth? Impossible.) Just another milestone to show us that our little (big) baby boy won't be so little (big) or baby-ish for long.

Since he won't show off his new tooth, he will show off his beautiful blue eyes

What a handsome little man.

January 17th

This was how Carter and I spent Saturday, January 17th, 2009:

And, Carter's favorite sport, eating.

I truly hate it when people mention how tired I look. I mean, come on, I have a 5 1/2 month old! But I never realized how tired I do look until I took the picture of Carter and I today. Maybe I do need a nap. :)

See? I found time.

Grammy is here entertaining Carter (or is Carter entertaining Grammy?), so I have a second to write. Carter has now officially grown too large for his bathtub. (His stats: 19lbs 13oz, 27" long, 5 months old.) We now have to give him a bath in the sink. Its quite funny. And he grabs the sprayer, which Im sure WON'T be so funny when I get a nice spray to the face.

One of these days....

Just so you know, one of these days I will update this blog. Perhaps one of the days that I am not working 10 hours at the Hospital. But then of course it will have to be sometime when I am not cuddling my Noony (a.k.a Carter). So maybe when he is napping? But that only lasts about 10 minutes and only a couple times a day, so thats no good. Weekends? Overnights? In the wee hours of the morning? Oh I will figure it out soon. I promise.

Carter's First Christmas

We spent Christmas day at Grandpa & Grandma Graves' house. It was a lot of fun! Carter was very good the whole time. Carter and I spent the 26th at Grammy and Grampy Allen's house (Darek was in Hays for a wedding). It was a lot of fun, also.

Just so you know

Its 4 degrees outside right now. The wind chill is 14 degrees below zero. We are staying in our jammies today. (Or Darek's pajama pants that I stole from him- they are so much cozier than mine. Why is that??)
