I have had several people suggest that I start charging for my Price Comp list that I send out weekly. I do not feel right forcing people to pay for it and I am afraid that it would create more work for me (keeping track of who has paid, who hasn't, who gets the email that week, etc.).
I put this feature on my blog for anyone who WANTS to pay for the list. It's more of a "donation". If you want to donate, I will definitely not stop you. If you don't want to, don't worry about it!
(Payments are made through Google Checkout and are completely secure. It is similar to a Paypal type set-up.)

Ta da!
Do you see it??
I worked FOREVER on trying to get a calendar on here with our menu. I decided the "agenda" view worked best- it was large enough to read and you don't have to click on anything if you don't want to.
Anyway, I will keep our menu updated. Here is the thing: I have two small children (3 and 1 1/2). They do not eat really crazy stuff and for that matter neither do I. We eat somewhat "normal" food so it may not be the healthiest food ever but they are usually easy, fast meals. I am sure you can google ways to make them healthier if you wish. Also, if I post something on here and you would like the recipe just email me (emy330@yahoo.com) or leave a comment and I will get it to you.
Now go have supper.
P.S. I didn't post anything on the weekend. We are usually so busy we just grab food wherever we are or I make a frozen pizza or something equally (un)delicious.

Save a dollar
(Get your coupons CHEAP) and (Me modeling my new shirt from Gap that I got for CHEAP!)
I wanted to write a quick blog to let you in on a tip. You might know this one already but if not, you MUST know it!
Are you a coupon-er? I don't do it much, but when I do, I don't want to pay $2.00 for one set of coupons! So, I go to the Dollar Tree (in Ottawa) on Sundays and get my KC Star there. The newspapers are $1.00 each there, so I get 2 on Sunday. You only pay like $2.18 for 2 papers instead of one.
Also, I had an awesome shopping trip yesterday. I went to Gap and Old Navy in the Topeka mall. I recommend that if you like to go shopping be sure to sign up for email from your favorite stores. I waited for a good one (30% off your entire shopping trip at Gap Outlet) and then went. I got the shirt I am wearing above for $6.00 and it is the comfiest shirt EVER. In fact, I got a few for me, some shirts for Darek, and some for the kids as well. We ended up SAVING $151.15 off of their already discounted prices.

15 Minutes Could Save You 15% or More on Car Insurance
Those car insurance commercials are super annoying. I want to not have car insurance just because of them.
Realistically, that is not possible. And I was happy with our current car insurance company (Travelers) until Monday. I have them take out our premium automatically each month and I noticed that this month's amount was about $15 more than usual. I called them to make sure we hadn't done something that made our insurance premium go up. This is a summary of how our conversation went:
Me: Hi- I was wondering why our premium went up. We have not had any accidents and no speeding tickets. Could you help me?
Lady on the other end: Sure. Let me look.... {On hold for about a thousand hours}. Ok, it looks like you had a premium increase.
Me: {Thinking No, really?? Duh.} Why would it have gone up?
Lady: Well, the premiums are based on your zip code. So when it was time for the premium checks in December, yours went up because of the accidents in your zip code.
Me: So I am paying for other peoples' car accidents??
Lady: Look at it this way: The price of groceries have gone up. Gas is more expensive. Its kind of like that.
Not so much. The lady didn't know she was talking to the Comp Queen.
I promptly requested and received 4 quotes from 4 different companies. One was much higher (double our newly increased premium), one was the same, one was a few dollars lower. Then I hit the jackpot: Approximately $40 lower. Per month. For the same amount of coverage.
I guess the moral to the story is although those commercials make you want to shove a gecko into Flo's mouth to shut her up, it might be worth your time to shop around. Although it didn't take me 15 minutes, it did only take a few hours for all the quotes which I requested online. I will save around $480/year now.
That means I need an Ipad now. You know. Just because.
P.S. The cheapest quote I got was indeed from Geico. And I purchased it online- it was super easy.

A Change In Scenery
I want to change things up a bit. I want to have a purpose for this blog (besides putting up SUPER cute pics of the kiddos, which I will still do randomly) and that purpose is going to be SAVING MOOLA. You know. Dinero. Cash. Dough. Bucks. Smackers.
Ok, sorry. I went a little Google crazy with synonyms for money.
Anyway, I will post tips and tricks to make your shopping life easier and hopefully cheaper. Stay tuned.
