Comp List 11/20-11/26

Hello, everyone!

I wanted to remind everyone that this will be the last comp list before Thanksgiving! I will not be putting a list together on Wednesday, November 27. I will be too busy drooling over the pies and goodies as we get them ready for the next day.

OOOH! And something new: I made a Facebook page that you can "like" that is strictly for the Comp List. So, if you are tired of seeing my hilariousness and awesomeness (or if I offend you perhaps), you can "like" that page and see it that way without seeing all my normal Facebook nonsense. (https://www.facebook.com/GravesCompList) I will probably stop posting too much about comp stuff on my personal page and put it more on this new page. (I didn't know you had a limit on Facebook friends and I reached my limit yesterday- which is apparently 5,000. I won't delete anyone I have on there now but if you want then you can unfriend me and get it from this new page. Your choice!)

I also wanted to remind everyone... if your local Walmart store doesn't match store brand items and you can't get milk for $1.99, you can still go to Aldi's if you live in Lawrence, Topeka, Emporia and probably some KC stores (check the ad before you go to make sure) and get it for $1.99. If you don't have an Aldi's nearby but do have a Walgreens, they usually have their milk for $2.79! It is name brand milk but since they don't list the brand name in the ad it cannot be comped.

Be sure to check out the ads at the end of the comp list this week! There are some great deals and important information. Even if you don't print them off, take a glance at them to see what is up! (These businesses are great for being willing to advertise on the comp list- it allows me to make a small amount of money for doing this. Thank you!)

Finally, this week when you are comping your groceries be sure to double check the dates on the ads... Some of the dates will probably be a little weird- some will go through Thanksgiving and some will end right before the holiday (and some might end after). Be extra careful this week!

Comp List 11/13-11/19

Hello, everyone!

On Facebook each day I see people posting each day what they are thankful for. I don't usually do that because I would be a slacker and be permanently 12 days behind but I think it is a wonderful idea. Anyway, as we are entering the Thanksgiving "season" I would like to let you know I am thankful for YOU. By creating the Comp List I never thought I would ever been introduced to so many different types of people from different areas. So thanks for being there to all of my new friends!

I would also like to apologize. I know I have been focusing on the negative lately (negative comments I receive, etc.) and it has been bringing me down. I will try to not let it happen anymore. "Ain't nobody got time for that!"

And just FYI: I will NOT be putting out a comp list on the following Wednesdays: November 27th, December 25th or and POSSIBLY January 1st- I will keep you updated!

Comp List 11/06-11/12

Hello, everyone!

A few things before we start...

Anyway, I will admit that I have *terrible* nails. I am very rough on them and I am a biter. I tried these puppies out and sure enough they lasted 2 weeks! I was quite impressed. The only tough decision you have is which ones you want to try first!

Next, Karen Harris will be having a Smart Shopping class at Ottawa Retirement Village in the Community Room on November 18th starting at 7:00pm. If you have any questions on couponing or how to get good deals you might think about attending! This class is open to the public and is free.

Finally, I have to step up on my "soap box" so sorry in advance! This week, I received about 10,000 (ok, a bit of an exaggeration) messages about Walmart issues. Ottawa Walmart will no longer match Red X or Save-a-lot ads. I have emailed the Manager to see what made him choose to do this but I haven't heard back. (He had been sticking to 60 miles- Red X is actually 60.6 miles but Save-a-lot is 55 miles away. So I am not sure why he made this decision). So please be aware of this when you go to the store! I am NOT going to stop putting these on the list just yet as I think there are many other people that CAN use those ads.

BUT, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE email/call/go in to Walmart with any issues you have. It is fine that you email me but I can do NOTHING about it as I do not work there! So if you have a less than satisfactory cashier/shopping experience/etc., call the store manager (your receipt will have all of the information you need on it) or call Corporate. They are much more equipped to help you than I am. (Seriously. I think I received a couple hundred messages this week with Walmart issues. And numerous hijacked Facebook posts. It has made me quite frustrated with the whole Comp List thing! I decided on Monday I was going to "quit" then here I am, working on it again.... I am a mess.) Anyway...I do know for sure that I will NOT be putting out a comp list on the following Wednesdays: November 27th, December 25th or and POSSIBLY January 1st- I will keep you updated!
